…about me:
I have been doing freelance design work for about seven years. My current full-time
gig, though, is as mom to two young'uns, who keep me pretty busy and strictly
limit my availability for work. I tend to take on only one project at a time,
and currently am not available for new contracts until October, 2008: yikes!
I graduated from Bates College in 1997 with a B.A. in Art History and worked in the fields of arts administration and web design/training prior to becoming a freelancer. I would be happy to provide my resume upon request.
…on pricing and payment:
Inevitably, the first question I am asked by potential clients is, "How
much do you charge?" The only honest answer to this question is, "Well,
it depends…" Every project is different, and for each project I take
the time to assess my clients' needs and to estimate a fair price for a product
that will meet those needs. So, if you think you might be interested in working
with me, please get in touch and we can work together
to come up with a price that works for both of us. I do think that you'll find
my prices to be fair and very competitive.
I generally work out a payment plan with my clients, requiring a deposit at the onset of a project and splitting the balance into two or three installments payable over the course of the project. For those who wish to pay by credit card, I do accept PayPal.
Oh, and for all you artists & craftspeople out there: I love to barter!!
…on web hosting:
I am often asked whether I offer website hosting…and I do not. However,
I use Tiger Technologies for my own web hosting, and I recommend them to many
of my clients. Visit their website for more information.
